What Are the Methods to Improve Dyshidrotic Eczema Symptoms?
Disease description:
I am 23 years old this year. I’ve developed some red rashes on my body, accompanied by occasional itching. After examination, the diagnosis is suspected to be dyshidrotic eczema. I would like to know what treatment options are available to alleviate its symptoms.
Dyshidrotic eczema occurs on the palms and soles, presenting as small vesicles accompanied by intense pruritus, followed by a desquamation phase. Peeling of the hands and feet typically appears during seasonal transitions—especially between autumn and winter—and is characterized by vesicles and scaling on the palms and soles.
During an active episode, it is essential to avoid contact with water, soap, laundry detergent, and other cleaning agents. Refrain from exposure to these alkaline irritants; wear gloves when handling such substances to prevent local irritation.
During the vesicular stage, topical application of corticosteroid ointment can alleviate pruritus, reduce disease severity, and shorten the duration of illness.
