I’ve been pregnant for some time now but haven’t yet had any prenatal examinations. Could you please tell me which department I should visit for prenatal care?

Pregnant women should register for obstetrics appointments. If a woman becomes pregnant but wishes to terminate the pregnancy, she should visit the gynecology department, where termination can be achieved through either abortion or induced labor. If the pregnancy is progressing normally and fetal development is healthy, ongoing monitoring of embryonic growth and development is recommended—typically under the care of the obstetrics department. Routine prenatal examinations include early-pregnancy registration (based on gestational age), nuchal translucency (NT) screening, first-trimester Down syndrome screening, and comprehensive anomaly-detection ultrasound. Generally, low-risk pregnant women require a total of nine prenatal visits throughout pregnancy; however, high-risk pregnancies may necessitate additional visits, depending on clinical circumstances. We hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
