Which department should I visit for imaging examinations?
Disease description:
Due to my health condition, I need to undergo angiography. Doctor, which department should I visit for this procedure?
The department for contrast imaging examinations depends on the anatomical site being examined. For example, hysterosalpingography (HSG) can be performed at a standard Grade A-3 hospital: a gynecologist first issues the examination requisition form, after which the patient schedules the procedure in the Radiology Department. Contrast agents used in imaging examinations are primarily divided into two categories: iodinated oil and diatrizoate meglumine (also known as meglumine diatrizoate). This examination is mainly indicated for patients with infertility to assess uterine and tubal morphology, patency of the fallopian tubes, and related abnormalities.
