Dr. Guo Xiheng
Pulmonary Infectious Diseases: Include pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, and lung abscess. Non-infectious Pulmonary Diseases: Common conditions include lung cancer—a malignant tumor of the lung—classified pathologically into four types: small cell carcinoma, large cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma. Symptoms of pulmonary disease include: 1. Cough and sputum production; sputum may be yellow or white. 2. Shortness of breath (dyspnea). 3. Hemoptysis—ranging from blood-streaked sputum to frank hemoptysis or massive hemoptysis—as seen in bronchiectasis or lung cancer. 4. Chest tightness or chest pain—as observed in pulmonary embolism. 5. Dry cough. 6. Fever—commonly associated with inflammatory diseases, tuberculosis, and malignancies.
