I’ve recently experienced testicular swelling and pain, and I’m unsure whether it’s due to a cyst or inflammation. Could you please explain the differences between a testicular cyst and orchitis?

There are two main differences between testicular cysts and orchitis. First, their causes differ: testicular cysts primarily result from congestion of testicular tissue, leading to swelling and pain in the testicle; orchitis is most commonly caused by bacterial or viral infections, though some cases arise from trauma, and it also causes testicular swelling and pain. Second, their treatments differ: testicular cysts are typically managed with medications that promote blood circulation, reduce swelling, and drain pus, whereas orchitis is generally treated with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial agents.
