What should be done if a child experiences early growth and development?
Disease description:
My child experienced early growth and development, and I am very concerned that this may affect their physical health. What should I do if a child shows signs of precocious development?
If a child exhibits early growth and development, it is advisable to take the child to a reputable local hospital for a comprehensive physical examination to identify the underlying cause and initiate appropriate treatment. If the condition is due to central (true) precocious puberty, medications prescribed by a physician—such as triptorelin or leuprolide—may be used. If it is peripheral (pseudo) precocious puberty, dietary modifications are essential: avoid foods high in exogenous hormones, such as soy milk and honey.
