I frequently receive intravenous (IV) fluids due to enteritis, but I’m unsure of the underlying cause and would like to learn more. What are the common diseases affecting the small intestine?
Numerous diseases can affect the small intestine, with the most common including enteritis, intestinal spasm, intestinal tumors, and intestinal obstruction. Treatment plans vary depending on the specific condition. Regardless of the diagnosis, dietary management is critically important: patients should strictly avoid greasy, spicy, cold, or otherwise irritating foods—such as chili peppers, ice cream, and fatty meats.
