Heatstroke: Symptoms and What to Do
Disease description:
My friend appears to have heatstroke—he’s been sweating profusely and complains of a severe headache. Could you please tell me the symptoms of heatstroke and what to do?
Early warning signs of heatstroke include headache, dizziness, thirst, sweating, limb weakness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and abnormal motor function—occurring in a hot environment—with normal or slightly elevated body temperature. In mild heatstroke, in addition to the above symptoms, body temperature rises above 38°C, accompanied by facial flushing, profuse sweating, and hot, dry skin. If these symptoms occur, outdoor activities should be minimized—especially work performed under high-temperature conditions. In cases of severe heatstroke, immediate transfer from the hot, sun-exposed area to a cool, well-ventilated environment is essential.
