For redness and swelling caused by insect bites, desonide cream or mometasone furoate cream may be applied to reduce inflammation, relieve itching, and alleviate swelling. In cases of more severe symptoms, antihistamines such as ebastine, loratadine, or levocetirizine hydrochloride may be used. If exudation is present, cold compresses with a 3% boric acid solution can be applied, which helps promote absorption of inflammation and provides symptomatic relief.
