What Are the Symptoms of Malignant Gastric Ulcer?
Disease description:
I was recently diagnosed with a gastric tumor, and I’ve been experiencing frequent stomach pain lately. After examination, it was determined to be a malignant gastric ulcer. What are the symptoms of a malignant gastric ulcer?
Malignant gastric ulcers are commonly caused by gastric neoplasms. Following ulcer formation, the protective mucosal barrier of the stomach becomes compromised, allowing gastric acid to invade and cause severe abdominal pain. Additionally, gastric function is significantly impaired, leading to functional disturbances such as dyspepsia. Malignant gastric ulcers may also be accompanied by localized oozing; substantial bleeding can result in melena (black, tarry stools). In advanced cases, patients may experience marked weight loss, malnutrition, and anorexia—conditions that profoundly impact overall health.
