Dr. Gan Liqiang
After being bitten by a rove beetle, individuals typically develop erythematous (red) patches on the affected area of the body, often accompanied by swelling and pain. Some people may also develop blisters and fever. In individuals with pre-existing skin conditions, rove beetle bites can trigger dermatitis. Topical corticosteroid ointments—such as desonide cream—can be applied externally to effectively alleviate redness, swelling, and pain. Additionally, oral supplementation with vitamins C and E may be beneficial.
