It is acceptable to use alcohol after a centipede bite; however, before disinfecting the wound with alcohol, it is essential to first rinse the wound thoroughly with soapy water to help neutralize the toxin. Alcohol disinfection can effectively prevent wound infection. If the patient experiences significant pain, analgesic medication may be taken orally under a physician’s guidance. Concurrently, antibiotics—such as cephalosporins—should be administered to prevent infection, and the patient should follow a light, bland diet.
