For insect bites and stings, the first step is to treat the affected area. You may apply crushed garlic to disinfect and kill bacteria, or spray some Hualuoshui (a common Chinese insect-repellent and soothing lotion). Next, carefully remove any stinger remaining in the skin to prevent secondary injury. If itching occurs, you may apply a saline solution. In cases of severe allergic reaction, seek immediate medical attention at a hospital to avoid delaying treatment.
