Pediatric diarrhea often requires fluid therapy to alleviate symptoms. In cases of pediatric diarrhea, electrolyte imbalances and dehydration may occur. Affected children should increase their oral fluid intake. For mild cases, oral rehydration therapy (ORT) is typically sufficient to relieve symptoms. In more severe cases, intravenous (IV) infusion of non-electrolyte solutions and isotonic sodium-containing solutions is required for treatment.
