Can people with HIV/AIDS still work?
Disease description:
After being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, I developed a red rash on my body and frequently experience low-grade fever and night sweats. Can I still work after being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS?
Individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS can continue working. With antiretroviral therapy (ART), most people living with HIV can achieve long-term survival. When the disease is well-controlled—meaning HIV replication is effectively suppressed and viral dissemination does not occur—the condition remains stable, allowing patients to lead normal lives and maintain employment. However, without prompt and consistent antiretroviral treatment, HIV infection may progress to advanced AIDS, characterized by opportunistic infections and malignancies, severely impairing quality of life and rendering normal work and daily activities impossible.
