Why Do Freckles Develop?
Disease description:
I have freckles on my face, primarily concentrated around my nose and in the central area of my face. They are very noticeable, making my entire face appear dark. Why do freckles develop?
A major cause of freckles is genetic predisposition, and their development exhibits a clear familial clustering pattern. Freckles are an autosomal dominant inherited skin disorder; thus, many individuals develop freckles due to familial inheritance. Sunlight exposure is also an indispensable factor in freckle formation. Additionally, gender is a key factor influencing freckle development—women have a significantly higher incidence and risk of developing freckles than men.
