Nasal dryness and pain may be associated with numerous factors. Dry, painful nasal passages can result from dry air. They may also stem from “excess internal heat” (a concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine), which can be triggered by staying up late or consuming excessive spicy or stimulating foods. Inflammation of the nose—particularly allergic rhinitis—can likewise cause nasal dryness and pain. Additionally, nasal furuncles (boils) or tumors may lead to these symptoms.
