Itchy skin may result from damage to the skin barrier. Systemic conditions such as uremia, hematologic disorders, thyroid disease, or malignancies can also trigger generalized pruritus. Additionally, prolonged mental stress or anxiety may precipitate this symptom. Furthermore, seasonal factors—such as dry skin in spring or excessive sweating in summer—can induce or exacerbate pruritus.
