Disease description:

I have psoriasis symptoms on my body, and soaking in hot springs may have triggered an inflammatory infection, leading to ulceration. What should I do if psoriasis becomes secondarily infected with bacteria during hot spring bathing?

Psoriasis patients who develop bacterial infections after soaking in hot springs should first clean the affected area with normal saline or boric acid solution, as directed by a physician. Subsequently, erythromycin ointment may be applied to achieve anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. In cases of severe infection, oral antibiotics—such as cephalosporins or amoxicillin—may also be prescribed for anti-inflammatory treatment.
