Itching of the skin on the lower legs may indicate gallstones or a bacterial infection, leading to impaired excretion of toxins and bile—causing them to accumulate in the skin and ultimately resulting in pruritus. Additionally, it may be triggered by an allergic reaction to allergens such as pollen or animal dander. If skin itching occurs, it is recommended to seek medical evaluation at a hospital to confirm the underlying cause and receive appropriate, targeted treatment.
