No special treatment is required. However, if significant swelling or intense itching occurs, calamine lotion or triamcinolone acetonide cream may be applied. Under no circumstances should you scratch the area with your hands, as this could break the mucosal or epidermal barrier and lead to infection or inflammation. Underwear must be washed immediately and thoroughly sun-dried.
