Can scabies be cured?

Scabies is curable. It is caused by infection with the scabies mite and requires anti-mite treatment—such as topical application of sulfur ointment—as prescribed by a physician, continued until full recovery. If itching is severe, antihistamines (e.g., loratadine) may be taken. After successful treatment, preventive measures remain essential: avoid close contact with infected individuals, maintain personal hygiene, and frequently change and wash clothing to prevent recurrence.
