Management Measures for Palpitations
Disease description:
My mother is 53 years old and occasionally experiences palpitations and a sensation of heart pounding for no apparent reason. Because this happens frequently, her overall mental well-being has declined, and she sometimes suffers from insomnia at night. Therefore, I would like to ask: What are the appropriate management strategies for palpitations and heart pounding?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), waking up with dry mouth and throat is attributed to “Yin deficiency with internal heat.” When Yin is deficient, it fails to anchor and restrain Yang, leading to relative Yang excess. This excessive Yang consumes and damages the body’s fluids (Jin-Ye), resulting in dry mouth and throat. Etiological factors include staying up late, consuming spicy or greasy foods, emotional strain, prolonged illness, and invasion by external Heat pathogens that deplete body fluids. Treatment may involve oral administration of proprietary Chinese medicines or herbal formulas that nourish Yin and clear heat.
