I haven’t become pregnant since getting married. After visiting the hospital for evaluation, my doctor informed me that my prolactin level is elevated. Can high prolactin levels cause infertility?

Elevated prolactin levels may lead to infertility. Hyperprolactinemia—particularly when prolactin levels are markedly elevated or when caused by pituitary microadenomas, pituitary tumors, or macroadenomas—can disrupt the female reproductive endocrine axis. This disruption may suppress ovulation and cause abnormal ovarian hormone secretion, thereby resulting in infertility.
