How long does it take to remove kidney stones using minimally invasive flexible ureteroscopy?
Disease description:
I recently underwent minimally invasive surgery for kidney stones and would like to have the indwelling catheter (stent) removed. How long after the procedure can the stent be removed?
Minimally invasive soft ureteral stents for kidney stones typically remain in place for approximately one week. Kidney stones are a relatively common urological condition with a high incidence rate and may cause symptoms such as flank pain, urinary frequency, and hematuria. Minimally invasive surgery can effectively remove stones from the kidneys. Following the procedure, a soft stent is placed to drain renal pelvic fluid (hydronephrosis) and dilate the ureter, thereby facilitating the spontaneous passage of small residual stones.
