According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) pattern differentiation, this formula may be used if the patient’s condition matches the pattern of liver-kidney yin deficiency. Typical symptoms include dry mouth, dry eyes, lumbago and weakness in the knees, red tongue with scanty coating, and general fatigue.
