What Causes Inflammation of the Inguinal Lymph Nodes in Men?
Disease description:
My inguinal lymph nodes have become inflamed—I’d like to know what causes inguinal lymphadenitis in men.
In males, inguinal lymphadenitis is typically caused by a urinary tract infection. In addition to inflammation, inguinal lymphadenitis commonly presents with symptoms such as redness, swelling, and tenderness, requiring pharmacological treatment—for example, phenoxymethylpenicillin potassium tablets, roxithromycin capsules, or amoxicillin capsules. In severe cases of inguinal lymphadenitis, physical therapy (e.g., laser therapy) or surgical intervention may be necessary.
