What causes pain or stinging at the male urethral meatus during urination?
Disease description:
Over the past few days, I’ve experienced a stinging pain at the urethral opening during urination. I’d like to understand what might be causing this discomfort in men.
In males, pain or stinging at the urethral meatus during urination may indicate a urethral infection. When urethritis occurs in males, symptoms may include stinging or burning at the urethral meatus, along with discharge. Oral antibiotics are required for treating urethral infections—for example, azithromycin capsules, levofloxacin capsules, or clarithromycin capsules. These may be combined with heat-clearing and detoxifying agents, such as Relinqing granules, Sanjin tablets, or honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) granules.
