If you experience rectal bleeding after consuming chili peppers, you should immediately stop eating them. Excessive chili consumption is closely associated with hemorrhoids or anal fissures. If the bleeding is minimal, discontinuing chili intake and increasing consumption of foods that lubricate the intestines and promote bowel movements—such as bananas, sesame seeds, and honey—will typically lead to gradual resolution of the bleeding. However, if the amount of rectal bleeding is substantial, prompt medical evaluation is essential to determine the underlying cause. If hemorrhoids are responsible, topical treatments such as hemorrhoid ointments may be used. If an anal fissure is diagnosed, management depends on its severity and may include surgical repair.
