How to Treat a Child’s Chapped Lips
Disease description:
My daughter is four years old and drinks water daily—why are her lips still dry and cracked? How should I manage my child’s dry, chapped lips?
Chapped lips in children can typically be managed by applying glycerin or taking oral medications. If a child’s lips are dry, local care is recommended—applying olive oil, glycerin, honey, or similar moisturizing agents to the lips may help. Especially before bedtime, a thin layer of glycerin can be applied to the lips, followed by warm compresses using a warm towel. It is also advisable to drink plenty of water and consume vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins.
