Can patients with mumps use an electric fan?

Recently, I was diagnosed with mumps. I’m unsure whether it’s safe to use an electric fan and am quite worried—can I use a fan while having mumps?

Mumps patients may use a fan, but the duration of fan use should be controlled. Mumps primarily refers to inflammation of the parotid gland tissue, which may result from bacterial or viral infections, among other causes. Using a fan can help alleviate heat-related discomfort; appropriate and moderate fan use generally does not adversely affect the parotid glands or overall health. However, prolonged fan exposure should be avoided, as it may cause pain in the bilateral parotid regions.
