Can pulp polyps become cancerous?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve been experiencing severe tooth pain. After a hospital examination, I was diagnosed with pulp polyp. Could pulp polyp become cancerous?
Pulp polyps do not undergo malignant transformation. However, they may cause localized bleeding during routine eating or physical contact. If left untreated, recurrent bleeding and progressive enlargement of the polyp can lead to halitosis (bad breath). Patients are advised to promptly seek evaluation at a qualified dental clinic, where a dentist can perform a thorough examination and recommend appropriate, targeted treatment.
