Adults can also develop zinc deficiency, which may manifest as dermatitis, dull or brittle hair, oral ulcers, and angular cheilitis. Patients are advised to increase their intake of zinc-rich foods in daily meals, such as oats, quinoa, walnuts, and peanuts. Additionally, zinc supplementation with medications—such as glycyrrhizic acid zinc or zinc gluconate—may be recommended as part of the treatment regimen.
