I’ve experienced anal itching since last week and suspect it might be eczema. I assume it will gradually improve on its own. Could you please explain what happens if one develops anal eczema?

If anal eczema is not treated promptly, the condition will progressively worsen. Anal eczema primarily affects the skin surrounding the anus. In most cases, timely and active treatment upon diagnosis leads to full recovery. However, prolonged neglect may result in recurrent episodes and complications such as erythema, erosion, and fissuring—potentially compromising the health of adjacent perianal skin.
