How Xyzal Works
Disease description:
I suffer from allergic rhinitis, which becomes particularly severe in summer. My mother bought me a bottle of Xianterming (cetirizine), but I’m hesitant to use it for fear that my allergy might worsen. Could you please explain the mechanism of action of Xianterming?
Xantenmin (cetirizine hydrochloride) is primarily used for the rapid relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, nasal pruritus, and nasal mucosal congestion. It is also indicated for the treatment of ocular symptoms—including pruritus, lacrimation, and conjunctival hyperemia—caused by allergic conjunctivitis. Xantenmin, also known as cetirizine hydrochloride, is a second-generation H1-receptor antagonist antihistamine. It has a rapid onset of action following oral administration, does not cross the blood-brain barrier, exhibits minimal sedative effects, and is associated with few adverse effects.
