Decoction of raw Atractylodes macrocephala (Baizhu) combined with raw Citrus aurantium (Zhishi) is generally effective for treating constipation. Zhishi helps eliminate food stagnation, regulate Qi flow, and relieve epigastric fullness and distension. Raw Baizhu promotes diuresis, resolves dampness, regulates Qi, and strengthens the spleen. When used together, these two herbs can treat conditions such as abdominal distension and fullness, indigestion, anorexia, constipation, and recurrent cold-type abdominal pain. If no significant improvement is observed after approximately one week of treatment, discontinue use promptly and seek medical evaluation at a hospital for definitive diagnosis and targeted management.
