Berberine hydrochloride tablets are generally effective for treating proctitis. Clinically, berberine hydrochloride tablets are indicated for intestinal infections such as enteritis and diarrhea, and also demonstrate good therapeutic efficacy against bacterial dysentery, gastroenteritis, pneumococcal infection, and tuberculosis (caused by *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*). However, patients must use this medication only under the guidance of a physician to avoid adverse reactions resulting from self-medication.
