What Causes Pain in the Left Cheek?
Disease description:
My child has been experiencing pain in the left cheek area for several days. I would like to know what might be causing this left cheek pain.
Pain in the left cheek may result from infection by microorganisms such as bacteria or viruses, leading to parotitis. It may also stem from temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), possibly due to malocclusion or other dental irregularities. Additionally, oral ulcers on the inner side of the mouth can produce similar symptoms. There are numerous other potential causes of left cheek pain; therefore, parents are advised to promptly take their child to a hospital for further evaluation.
