Can Analgesic Tablets Treat Toothache?
Disease description:
My tooth is especially painful tonight—even speaking slightly causes unbearable soreness. Can painkillers relieve toothache?
Analgesic tablets generally cannot treat toothache but may alleviate its symptoms. While these tablets can effectively relieve pain, they do not address the underlying cause of toothache. Toothache may result from conditions such as pulpitis or pericoronitis around impacted wisdom teeth, requiring targeted, professional treatment to improve the condition. If caused by pulpitis, root canal therapy is necessary to relieve symptoms. If due to pericoronitis, extraction of the affected wisdom tooth is typically required to resolve the issue.
