Disease description:

I’m planning to return to my hometown to develop my career, but I’ve noticed a cyst on my wrist. Given that I’ve been working excessively long hours, I’m concerned it might continue to grow larger, so I’d like to go home first and get it treated. Should the cyst on my wrist be surgically removed?

The management approach depends on the patient’s specific condition. Conservative treatment may be appropriate if pain is mild. However, surgical intervention is indicated when there is evident enlargement, significant pain, or restricted mobility. Postoperatively, close observation is required, and wrist movement should be gradually reduced. During surgery, the opening of the ganglion cyst must be sutured to prevent recurrence. Regular wound dressing changes are essential postoperatively to maintain cleanliness.
