Patients with vulvovaginal candidiasis do not harbor Group B Streptococcus (GBS). Vulvovaginal candidiasis is caused by a fungal infection—not by infection with Group B Streptococcus. Under a physician’s guidance, patients may appropriately use antifungal medications such as miconazole vaginal suppositories for treatment. During treatment, sexual intercourse should be avoided, as it may exacerbate the condition and impede recovery.
