Does a positive high-risk HPV test mean cervical cancer?
Disease description:
I have tested positive for high-risk HPV. I would like to ask whether a high-risk HPV positive result means cervical cancer.
A positive high-risk HPV test does not necessarily indicate cervical cancer. This condition is associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection; if left untreated or inadequately treated, it may damage cervical epithelial cells and increase the risk of malignant transformation. Patients should receive treatment—such as interferon injections—under the guidance of a physician. Additionally, adopting healthier dietary habits is essential; otherwise, the disease may progress continuously.
