Is it normal for cervical Nabothian cysts to disappear spontaneously?
Disease description:
I recently underwent a cervical examination and was found to have Nabothian cysts. Today, I returned for a follow-up examination, and—surprisingly—the cysts had disappeared. Is it normal for Nabothian cysts to resolve spontaneously?
The disappearance of a Nabothian cyst is generally a normal phenomenon. Nabothian cysts are a relatively common type of chronic cervicitis and are benign; malignant transformation is extremely rare. Small Nabothian cysts typically require no treatment and often resolve spontaneously. However, if a Nabothian cyst exceeds 1.5 cm in diameter, surgical removal is recommended.
