Is childhood variant asthma severe?
Disease description:
A child from my sister’s family has been diagnosed with cough-variant asthma. How serious is this condition?
The onset of childhood cough-variant asthma may indicate a relatively severe condition. This disease is characterized by severe coughing and may also be accompanied by dyspnea. Once diagnosed with childhood cough-variant asthma, treatment should be administered under a physician’s guidance—appropriately using antitussive medications and, as an adjunct, bronchodilators—to prevent disease progression.
