Left shoulder pain may be caused by periarthritis of the shoulder (frozen shoulder) or by a rotator cuff injury. If the pain is due to periarthritis of the shoulder, it can be improved through localized exercises and may be supplemented with traditional Chinese medicine therapies such as acupuncture and massage. If the pain results from a rotator cuff injury, treatment may include medications such as celecoxib capsules, as prescribed by a physician, or arthroscopic surgery.
