Is hip synovitis with bone marrow edema a serious condition?
Disease description:
My friend has hip synovitis and also suffers from bone marrow edema, which is causing significant concern. How serious are hip synovitis and bone marrow edema?
Hip synovitis and bone marrow edema are generally not severe conditions. Patients should prioritize rest; immobilization may be necessary when required. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic medications may be prescribed by a physician. During treatment, strict bed rest is advised—physical activity should be avoided to prevent worsening of synovitis and bone marrow edema, which could complicate treatment. Diet should consist primarily of easily digestible foods.
