Typically, 3–5 treatment courses are required. This medication is commonly used for pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Due to its heat-clearing, detoxifying, blood-stasis-resolving, and qi-regulating properties, it helps normalize vaginal discharge and thereby alleviates PID symptoms. PID is classified into acute and chronic forms. Chronic PID often develops when acute PID is inadequately treated, especially in patients with compromised constitution; the condition may thus persist and prove difficult to resolve. Therefore, after symptom improvement or completion of treatment, a consolidation period is recommended.
