Does pelvic inflammatory disease cause pain around the navel?

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) does not typically cause pain around the navel. If you experience periumbilical pain, we recommend undergoing an abdominal CT scan to rule out gastrointestinal disorders. If the underlying cause remains unclear, abdominal color Doppler ultrasound may also be performed for further evaluation. PID is relatively common and is often associated with poor menstrual hygiene. To prevent and manage PID, maintain external genital hygiene, wear loose-fitting and breathable underwear, change underwear regularly, avoid unnecessary intrauterine procedures, and abstain from sexual intercourse during treatment.
