Is hospitalization required for cervical nabothian cyst surgery?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve noticed an increase in vaginal discharge, which has turned yellow and is accompanied by an unpleasant odor. My doctor said this is a sign of cervical nabothian cysts and recommended surgery. I’d like to know whether hospitalization is required for cervical nabothian cyst surgery.
Nabothian cyst surgery typically does not require hospitalization. If Nabothian cysts are present without other cervical lesions, no specific treatment is necessary—only regular follow-up is required. However, for severe cervicitis, treatment with a loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) may be considered. Medications are ineffective for conditions such as cervical hypertrophy or cervical polyps. In general, provided no other comorbidities are present, these procedures can usually be performed on an outpatient basis.
