Is it normal for the cervical os to appear as a straight line?
Disease description:
I have given birth to two children and previously experienced two miscarriages. Currently, my cervical os appears as a straight line (“—”). Is it normal for the cervical os to appear as a straight line?
A linear (slit-like) cervical os is normal. In most women who have not given birth, the cervical os is round and relatively smooth; after childbirth, it typically becomes linear (slit-like). A linear cervical os may result from vaginal delivery, abortion, or cervical inflammation. Maintain adequate rest and personal hygiene, avoid excessive fatigue, keep a positive mental state, and refrain from consuming spicy or irritating foods.
